Academic Policy

  1. Definitions:
    1. Assessment means various forms of tests that are conducted to evaluate the learning objective so achieved by a Learner in a Course.
    2. Attendance means physical or online presence or both of the Learner in the Classes which is tracked by appropriate means including physical attendance sheet or tracking of login by the Learner.
    3. Batch may be launched to facilitate execution of a Course. A Batch may be for specific days and timings of execution. It has the start and end date. The name of the Center and Instructor’s name etc. may be mentioned for a Batch to the extent relevant. Depending on the Delivery Model of the Course, the Learner is allocated a Batch to complete the learning of a Course.
    4. Certificate means the certificate issued by NIIT or as the case be, by any third party organization either as printed physical document or as a document uploaded on the Learning Portal which the Learner may download. The Certificate is issued after a Learner has chosen for the same as also he fulfils the prerequisites for the same.
    5. Course is the autonomous unit of offering to the Learner offered by NIIT of its own or in partnership with the third party organization at the Learning Portal. Each Course has defined learning objectives that the Learner attains upon its completion.
    6. Course Brochure means the Course specific document which contains details of the Course and the Delivery Model. The Course Brochure is issued in pursuance to this Academic Policy and therefore the same is to be read together with this Academic Policy only. Course Brochure is made available at the Learning Portal and all details relating to the fee payment and the timeline for completion, the mode of enrolment, delivery and certification in relation to the Course is provided therein. It is clarified that the Academic Policy guarantees services to the Learner only to the extent to which they find mention in the Course Brochure.
    7. Content means the intellectual properties either owned by or licensed to NIIT in the various form including but not limited to in the form of video or PDF, PPT, Word File, Webpages, the Courseware etc. which may be provided to the Learner, either in the hard form or by way of access to the same, for beneficial use in so far as his learning is concerned.
    8. Credential means the Login ID, One Time Password and the Enrolment Number provided to the Learners by NIIT for availing benefit of enrolling into the Course.
    9. Classes means the training delivered by NIIT to the Learners by way of his Batch through either of the various means or through combination of some of the means. The Classes are delivered at the Centre where the Instructors and Learners are together at same place and time. The Classes are also delivered online or by way of satellite communications where though the Instructors and Learners are not together at the same place but they are together at the same time. The Classes are also delivered by way of pre-recorded videos and other Contents wherein there is no Instructor as such.
    10. Centre means the designated location where the Learner is required to be physically present and to undergo Classes, take up tests, participate in a project, undergo the grooming sessions or interact with the Instructor/Mentor.
    11. Enrolment Number means a unique 13 digits alphanumeric number which shall be unique for each of the Learner. The Learner is required to refer his Enrolment Number for all purposes including but not limited to his interaction with NIIT, his entitlements, Certificates, the learning delivery etc. The Enrolment Number is issued only after a Learner has complied with all formalities of enrolling into a Course including payment of Fee.
    12. Email Address is the email address supplied by the Learner in the Admission Form at the time of Admission or updated by the Learner on the Learning Portal, whichever is later. All communications are mailed to the Learners on the Email Address only.
    13. Fee is the amount that a Learner pays to NIIT in order to enroll in a Course. The Fee may be paid in lump sum or in installments as may be specified in the Fee Plan. The Fee is exclusive of the GST.
    14. Delivery Model means the details about the Course in relation to the timeline, type of Classes, Assessment structure, Marking Scheme, the kind of Contents to be made available to the Learners, the training methodologies and details about the Other Facility which may be provided to the Learner in relation to a Course.
    15. Instructor /Mentor shall mean the person(s) either taking up the Classes or guiding the Learner during projects and other interactive sessions or both.
    16. Learner shall mean a Learner duly enrolled in a Course and having been issued the Enrolment Number by NIIT.
    17. Learning Plan is the date-wise schedule of Sessions that a Learner is expected to attend and complete to attain the objectives of the Course. The Learning Plan is relevant and specific to a Learner and the same is available for reference on the Learning Portal.
    18. Learning Portal is the online portal being the URL for the Learners to access certain online services. It also provides ease of access to certain information and documents to the Learner. Learning Portal also contains certain information including the Course Brochure and this Academic Policy for access by the public at large.
    19. Mandatory Assessment means the Assessment that needs to be mandatorily attempted by the Learner in order to complete the Course. There may be more than one Mandatory Assessment that the Learner may be required to attempt in a given Course.
    20. Placement Assistance means the assistance provided by NIIT to the Learners in their bid to get employed after they complete the Course and also meet the eligibility criteria for receiving the Placement Assistance. The Placement Assistance must not be construed as the Placement Guarantee or Job Guarantee by NIIT.
    21. Partner Organization shall mean and include the third party organization with whom NIIT has or may have tie up to offer or facilitate offering of the Courses.
    22. Semester is a pre-designed execution plan of Courses that are grouped logically, to be completed in a specified time period.
    23. Session is the smallest unit of pre-ascertained time period of learning in a Course to be undergone by a Learner. It is represented in a Learning Plan, which may comprise of any of the means of delivering the Classes to the Learners within the Timeline.
    24. Supplementary Assessment is a re-attempt of the Assessment of a Course. This is an additional attempt that may be availed by a Learner to improve his performance for the purposes of Certification. Availability of Supplementary Assessment may vary from the Course to Course.
    25. Self-Paced Learning means the learning by way of Content provided by NIIT which are meant to facilitate the Learner in his bid to train for the Course. There is no Instructor to help the Learner in case of Self-Paced Learning.
    26. Other Facility shall mean and include the facilities apart from the Contents, Classes and certification that may be provided to the Learners like an online Lab or online library, 24*7 online technical support, special guest Instructor or Mentor support etc. The Course Brochure shall detail out if other facility is provided for a given course or not.
    27. Invoice shall mean the receipt issued by NIIT and made available for download on the Learning Portal or mailed to the Learners after the payment of Fees. The invoice shall have the Enrolment Number of the Learner and also the logo of NIIT on it to authenticate the same.
    28. Timeline shall always be calculated in hours. The required number of hours required for the completion of the Course is mentioned and shall be specific for Courses.
    29. Marking Scheme shall mean the marks which shall be awarded to the Learner at the end of the assessment. The Marking Scheme may be different for different Courses depending upon the requirements. The Marking Scheme can be by way of Grade System or Percentage System or it may be in the form of Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) or there may be Band System also.
    30. User shall refer to the user who browses the unrestricted pages of the Learning Portal.
  2. Interpretation:
    1. Words in the singular include the plural meaning and words in the plural include the singular meaning.
    2. References to days, months or years shall mean calendar days, months or years unless stated to the contrary.
    3. References to clauses or schedules mean clauses or schedules to this Academic Policy.
    4. Headings are for reference only and do not affect the meaning of this Academic Policy.
    5. Reference to the word ‘you’ or ‘Your’ shall be interpreted as either the User or the Learner as the context may require.
    6. Reference to one gender shall be interpreted as the reference to the other genders as well.

  4. Course Brochure:
    1. Based on your specific areas of needs and interest, the Learning Portal allows you to choose the Course or Courses among the Courses available. Each of the Courses have specific Course Brochure. Each Course Brochure is tailor made for a given Course. Therefore, NIIT is obliged to discharge its obligations towards you strictly in terms of the Course Brochure only.
    2. Course comprises of a distinct Delivery Model. The said Delivery Model is to be followed by the Learner while pursuing a Course. On the other hand, NIIT shall service the Learners as per the Delivery Model only. The details related to the Course regarding the Fee structure, eligibility and Timeline are all mentioned in the Course Brochure.
    3. The mode of training shall be also specifically mentioned in the Course Brochure. There are primarily three types of training methodologies:
      1. Classroom training- Classes are delivered at the Centre where the Instructors and Learners are together at same place and time. This include Face to Face training which may be physical or virtual. The physical form would include the Instructor and the Learner being present physically at the Centre at the same time and same place. In case of virtual classes it is meant to include the Instructor and the Learner virtually at the same time and the training is conducted by means of satellite communication. Even in case of virtual classes, the Learners are required to be present in the classroom.
      2. Live Interactive Instructor led training- Classes are also delivered online or by way of satellite communications where though the Instructors and Learners are not together at the same place but they are together at the same time. Such training does not require the Learner to report at the Centre. Rather, for such training the Learner is required to have a computer device of appropriate configuration and robust internet connection to stay connected with the Class.
      3. Self-paced training-The Classes are also delivered by way of the Contents wherein there is no Instructor as such.
    4. A Course may comprise of either one mode of training or there may be a mix of more than one mode of training which shall be mentioned in the Course Brochure.
    5. If there are Other Facility to be provided during the Course, the same is also mentioned in the Course Brochure.
    6. The Course Brochure has the entire details about a Course, the Delivery Model and discounts and other benefits, if any, are also mentioned therein.
  5. Learning Evaluation and Performance:
    1. The Courses may have different types of Marking Scheme. The Courses offered by NIIT of its own shall have the CGPA or percentage based Marking Scheme. On the other hand the Courses offered in collaboration with the Partner Organizations may have different Marking Schemes which may vary from Branding, Grading or any other type as may be described in the Course Brochure.
    2. The performance in a Course shall be the aggregate of all the marks received in and every module of a Course. The aggregate shall again be represented in the Marking Scheme for a give Course. The details relating of to all types of modules and related Marking Scheme, Assessment, Supplementary Assessment etc. shall be specifically be mentioned in the Course Brochure.
  6. Certification:
    1. Upon successful completion of all the modules and getting the required marks at the end of the entire Course, the Learner shall be accorded the aggregate performance marking in terms of the Marking Scheme. Accordingly the Learner may be awarded the Certificate.
    2. If a Learner fails to complete the course in spite of Supplementary Assessments then in that case a participation certificate may be issued by NIIT but the Course completion Certificate may not be awarded to him.
  7. Learning:
    1. NIIT keeps innovating its instructional design and delivery methodology in line with the training to be delivered, the target audience and learning objective to be achieved.
    2. The delivery methodology helps seamlessly blend the Instructor-led Classroom based learning, whether physical or virtual, online instructor led training and the Contents. The delivery methodology used at NIIT is an initiative which takes learning beyond the traditional Learner-Instructor relationship. It addresses the needs of lifestyle of today’s generation and convenience of learning.
    3. The Partner Organizations may have similar or different delivery model. The individual course may have a combination of many types of training methodologies. Online Batches may be a combination of Classes. For examination Purposes the Learner may have to report to the Centre. The Course Brochure defines the training methodology and the learning path for each Course.
    4. The timeline for a particular Course shall be also mentioned in the Course Brochure and a Learner is required to devote the required time and then finish the Course in the mentioned Timeline.
    5. NIIT may update and revise the Delivery Plan in the interest of the Learner which the Learner shall be required to follow.
  8. Course:
    1. The Courses have been designed for the benefit of the Learners who may be working professionals or already enrolled in formal course at a college or school or any other course. The Delivery Plan of Course are made to overcome the constraints of time and to facilitate convenient learning experience. The Courses makes it very convenient for the Learners to study and access the Content from any place. A Course may comprise of different types of Classes and for certain Courses the physical Classes may also be required to be attended by the Learners.
    2. The Courses offered by NIIT are made available in the Learning Portal.
    3. There may be some courses offered in the Learning Portal which may be offered by NIIT by way of collaboration with the Partner Organization.
    4. Education Delivery:
      1. Each Course will be delivered using the appropriate Delivery Model keeping in view the requirements of the Course and optimization of the learning. Thus, respective Courses may have different training methodologies. These methodologies have been devised considering the following factors:
        1. Nature of learning, which is a mix of Self- Paced Learning, Instructor-Led live online Training and Classroom training.
        2. Distribution of learning through various modes of Classes are also expressly discussed.
        3. Types of Assessment or Modules is also mentioned in the Course Brochure.
        4. Nature of learning and related material provided to you vide the Learning Portal along with the Assessment and certification process shall be mentioned in details in the Course Brochure.
      2. You will be required to follow your Learning Plan in accordance with the Delivery Model that may be adopted by NIIT for the delivery of services to you. NIIT reserves the right to decide the training methodology that is most appropriate for you in case the Course is available in more than one format with NIIT or with Partner Organizations.
    5. Learning Plan:
      1. The Course for which a Learner has enrolled shall be governed by the timeline as mentioned in the Course brochure. Details relating to the class timings, batch requirements, online training schedule, attendance or self-paced learning timelines shall be mentioned in details in the Course Brochure. The learner is expected to follow the learning path carved out for the specific course.
      2. The learning path is not standardized and shall vary for each and every courses. The delivery timelines may change due to some emergencies and the Learner shall be informed about the same in due course of time. All updates about a course shall be updated in the Learning Portal.
      3. NIIT reserves the right to change the Learning Plan, anytime during the execution of the Course, in the interest of better education delivery. In case of courses conducted by Partner organizations then the Delivery model of that organization shall override NIIT’s Learning Plans.
    6. Attendance:
      1. The Learner needs to be regular in studies and prepared to take surprise tests or quizzes at a short notices that may be communicated to the Learners on the Learning Portal. A continuing and participative interest in the learning processes is essential to ensure that Course objectives are met. The Learner has to demonstrate involved participation and devote adequate time for preparing for them.
      2. In most of the cases the attendance may not be essential but in some cases the attendance may be made mandatory in order to be certified. Attendance may be either monitored through the login of the Learner when he accesses the Learning Portal by entering his Credentials or recorded by way of conventional method of Attendance Sheet.
    7. Supplementary Assessment:
      1. NIIT provides you with additional opportunities to improve your performance in a Course or clear a Course by taking Supplementary Assessment. Supplementary Assessment is essentially a re-attempt of the Mandatory Assessment of the Course. You may attempt the Supplementary Assessment in any one of the following situations:
        1. You have not cleared the Course;
        2. You have not cleared a Module;
        3. To improve the existing performance;
      2. However you must note that the number of opportunity to take Supplementary Assessment shall vary form Course to Course and the Course Brochure shall mention the number of additional opportunity that may be given to the Learners for a specific Course.
      3. The highest score obtained amongst all attempts of Supplementary Assessments shall be considered while awarding the Certificate. If you still do not clear the Course, you will need to pursue the Course again.
      4. The Learner may be provided free opportunities to take up the Supplementary Assessment or may be charged for the same. The same shall be mentioned in the Course Brochure.
    8. Repeat a Module: So long as the timeline for completing a Course exists, the Learner may be allowed to repeat a Module for as many times as may be mentioned in the Course Brochure.
  9. Course Performance:
    1. Course performance shall be arrived at by way of aggregate or average of the performances in the Assessments by means of the applicable Marking Scheme.
    2. You may view the performance summary of the Courses in the Learning Portal.

  11. Admission:
    1. For the purpose of Admission, any User, meeting the eligibility criteria of a given Course, may apply online through the Learning Portal It is the responsibility of the User to supply correct information in the Admission Form.
    2. Applying for a Course presupposes that the User has gone through this Academic Policy and the Course Brochure.
    3. An Enrolment Number shall be generated by the Learning Portal for the Learner after the successful enrolment for a Course. The User shall be eligible to start the course.
    4. Admission Documentation:
      1. To apply for a Course, the User is first required to sign up a form tailor made for a particular Course. If the Course contains some eligibility criteria the same has to be fulfilled in order to join the Course. The signing up for a Course and the payment of the Fees are two important preconditions for taking admission.
      2. All the Courses are governed by their respective Course Brochures. By signing up for the Course, the User shall necessarily agree that his admission in the Course shall be governed by the Course Brochure read with this Academic Policy. In other words, NIIT shall be responsible to provide training services to the User only in accordance with and up to the extent required under the Course Brochure.
      3. For Some Courses, the User may be required to appear for an interview or an online admission test. The admission of the User to such a Course shall be dependent upon his performance in the admission test result or interview results. Even if the Fees has been paid by the User prior to such interview or the admission test, he shall not be considered enrolled for the Course unless he is found eligible for admission in the Course. In other words, NIIT shall not be liable to provide any service even if the User has paid the Fees.
      4. In the event if a User has paid the Fees but has failed to clear interview or the admission test for a Course, his Fees shall be refunded after deducting the charges towards such interview or the admission test. In no event shall the tax(es) collected from the User towards the Fees shall be refunded.
      5. After successful admission which shall lead to generation of the Enrolment Number, the Learner shall be expected to complete the Course as per the Timeline.
      6. Miscellaneous:

        Without prejudice to the other provisions of this Academic Policy, please note the following:

        1. Admission to a Course it is not transferable to any other individual.
        2. Your Admission will be governed by this Academic Policy and Course Brochure and other policy and terms and Conditions as may be prescribed from time to time.
        3. You are required to fill the correct details and Credentials in the online Admission Form and read all Sections of the same before submitting the same. The credentials entered by the Learner shall be authentic and the Learner shall take full responsibility for the information provided by them.
        4. If you have to visit a NIIT Centre or a Partner Organization’s location in order to complete the Course then in that case the Learner shall be obliged to follow the Centre’s or such location’s rules & regulations and decorum and other requirements to enter such premises.
        5. Each Course shall generate a different Enrollment Number for a Learner and the Enrollment Number is unique so it cannot be altered or tampered with to gain access to other Courses.
        6. Your Enrolment Number is also used as the Login ID to access the online Learning Portal. The Enrollment Number shall also be mentioned in the invoices and/or receipts issued to the Learner.
        7. At the time of Admission, you may also be provided with the Batch details in case there is a particular Batch Scheduled for a particular course. In case Classroom Training or Assessment at Centre is essential then the Learner shall also be intimated about the same in the Course Brochure and the same shall be relied upon at all times.
        8. If you take Admission in a Course with Placement Assistance, age limit shall be prescribed for receiving the same and the Course Brochure shall have all such details. NIIT shall not be held liable to provide the Placement Assistance if you exceed the age limit at the time of Placement Assistance.
        9. Any other formalities which needs to be completed by the Learner or the Learner’s eligibility for admission into a Course or for receiving the Placement Assistance are mentioned in the Course Brochure and the Learner is presumed to have read and understand the same before taking admission. NIIT shall not be held liable for any consequence of not completing such formalities or not meeting such eligibilities in any manner whatsoever.
        10. The admission in a Course entitles the Learner to receive training services from NIIT only within the Timeline. Upon expiry of Timeline, all services to the Learner shall be stopped irrespective of any reason except that the delay in services to the Learner is attributed to NIIT. It is made clear that except in cases of exigencies like illness, the Timeline shall not be revised by NIIT.
        11. In case the Learner fails to pay the Fees as per the Fee Plan, all services to him shall be suspended till the time he pays the Fees. However if he delays the payment by more than ten (10) days then his admission to the Course shall stand cancelled. Further, in case of resumption of the services, the Learner may be placed in an appropriate Batch having achieved the same level of learning as the Learner for which the services may be delayed at the sole risk of the Learner.
        12. At any point of time it is found out that the Learner has taken help of a Proxy to take the online Assessment or has indulged into taking help or aid of a third person or device in doing so, his admission shall be cancelled.
        13. In case the information supplied by you at the time of signing up for the particular Course is fund incorrect, your admission shall be cancelled without any notice.
        14. If it is found that the Learner had put in a lot of effort but still failed to clear the Assessment to entitle him for a Certificate, in such circumstances a certificate for participation may be given by NIIT.
        15. When you apply/register/purchase or enter into any mode of transaction for materials/courses/training through you are granting permission to the right to reproduce any material including your photographs for the purpose of publication, promotion, illustration, advertising, or trade of NIIT Services, in any manner or in any medium.
      7. Specific Conditions for Foreign Nationals:

        In case you are a citizen of any other country than India except Nepal and Bhutan, then in addition to meeting the other terms and conditions elsewhere mentioned in this Academic Policy, the following conditions shall additionally be applicable to you:

        1. You must hold a valid Passport issued by the country you are a citizen of.
        2. You must possess a valid learner Visa, if the case be, for stay in India. If you have got the learner Visa on the basis of documents provided by NIIT, then it is your responsibility to ensure that you report and seek Admission at an NIIT Centre. The Visa endorsed on the name of NIIT or obtained on the basis of NIIT documents cannot be used for any other purpose like employment, etc. NIIT shall not be obliged to issue ‘No Objection Certificate’ to you. You shall not be allowed to concurrently take Admission in or transfer to any other educational institution, provided, however, that NIIT may issue No Objection Certificate if the said Admission does not prejudicially affect your Admission with NIIT in any manner.
        3. You must register yourself with FRRO of the Govt. of India.
        4. All disputes pertaining to Learning Portal offering NIIT Courses hall be governed by Law of Republic of India only and the Court at Delhi shall have the exclusive jurisdiction to adjudicate such disputes.
        5. For Partner Organization Courses the law of the Land of such Partner Organization shall be deemed to be final and the Learner shall be governed by the same.
        6. A citizen of Nepal or Bhutan shall only be required to submit self attested copy of Passport, and if he/she is entering India from China, then additionally the self-attested copy of his/her Visa as well.
  12. Deliverables:
    1. Learning Material:
      1. In case stated so in the Course Brochure, you will be provided the Courseware (or Study Material) in a Digital form.
      2. Please note that the Courseware is crucial for your learning and, therefore, you must receive the same in due time. You are required to take the following steps to download the Courseware:
        1. You must have the device, i.e. laptop, netbook, notebook, tablet, or such similar devices of the suitable configuration (‘Your Device’) as may be specified by NIIT.
        2. You will be required to register Your Device with NIIT using the ‘Device Registration Utility’ available on the Learning Portal. Please note you can register maximum of two numbers of Your Device.
        3. Upon registering Your Device, you may download the Courseware from the Learning Portal.
      3. The Courseware shall be issued to you only when you have paid the Fee as per your Fee Plan and after the Session you first attended for the Course. Courseware, once issued, is non-returnable, irrespective of the fact whether you have downloaded it or not.
      4. You may also opt for a physical copy of the Courseware, if available, with the Course/Courses you are pursuing, at an additional cost.
    2. Learning Portal:
      1. The Learning Portal is available to be accessed by you. The Enrolment Number so provided to you at the time of admission is the default login ID for the Learning Portal. The OTP is mailed to you at the time of admission. Please note that upon accessing the Learning Portal for the first time, you are immediately required to change the initial password.
      2. Depending upon the requirement of a Course, as the case may be, the Learning Portal shall provide you the following services:
        1. Facility to apply online for various services like Supplementary Assessment, project based training, live interactive chat forum while attending instructor led training containing live videos and live interactions etc.
        2. Access to various performance reports like module based reports which shall be generated after completion of each and every module and if the Course requires a combined result may also be made at the end of all the modules.
        3. View of the personal, academic and financial information relating to you.
      3. Please note that if you wish to update your credentials, you may do so under the section ‘Update Profile’. Certain personal information like your mobile no. and Email Address are indispensable for your learning, and in case you have provided incorrect personal information or the information provided by you has become outdated, you may not receive the necessary information that may be required in turn to receive any or all services from NIIT. In that event, NIIT shall not be liable for the same.
      4. Please note that the documents and credentials made available on Learning Portal bear the same degree of genuineness and authenticity as in case of the printed form thereof.
      5. Your access to the Learning Portal will be governed by the terms and conditions which are available on the Learning Portal.
    3. Fee Plan:
      1. You can pay your Fee either in lump sum at the time of Admission or in instalments as per the Fee Plan that may be provided to you at the time of your Admission. In case of instalment, you will be required to pay the same on or before the due dates.
      2. In case you make payment through cheque and the same is dishonored, then without prejudice to other consequences, you will be required to pay the applicable cheque bounce charges.
      3. There may be third party payment aggregator who may be collecting the Fees from you and then process the same towards NIIT. Under those circumstances the receipt shall be issued to you only after the Fees have been credited to NIIT’s account.
      4. Apart from the Fee as already mentioned in the Course Brochure for a Course, there may be certain other sums that you may be required to pay for additional services as and when required for any particular course. You will be informed about the same in due course of time.
    4. Refund: Fees may be asked for refund only when the Learner has not downloaded the Courseware or the Contents. Provided further that if the case be, the refund of Fees can only be initiated before start of the second Session of Class of the Batch.
  13. Certification:
    1. You will be awarded the Title for the Course you took Admission in, subject to the following pre-conditions:
      1. You have paid the entire Fee.
      2. You have obtained the Grades as applicable, to clear the Courses.
      3. Your Attendance is >=70% in each of the Courses or as the criteria as mentioned in the Course Brochure particular to a course.
      4. You have met the Credit requirements for the Award/Title subject to the condition that the same is met on the basis of Credit accumulated out of the Core, Disciplinary and Elective courses in accordance with the requirements laid down in the Course Architecture.
      5. You have obtained the minimum CGPA, Grade, Band etc. as applicable for the Course.
      6. Any specific pre-condition laid down by the Partner Organization of NIIT in case of the Course offered in alliance with them.
      7. You have met the Academic prerequisites as may be required in case of certain Courses as mentioned in the Course Brochure.
    2. There may be different rules governing a course provided by the Partner organization. In case you do not opt for the completion of the Course and do not abide by this Academic Policy, then NIIT will proceed as follows:
      1. NIIT shall not provide the course participation certificate to the Learner.
      2. NIIT shall not issue the certificate if it is found that the Learner has indulged into unfair means while attempting the Assessment.
      3. NIIT may not issue the Certificate if the Learner is found to spam, or spread malware in the Learning Portal.
  14. Placement Assistance:
    1. Placement Assistance is available for selected Courses only. The Course Brochure of a given Course does mention whether Placement Assistance is associated or not associated with the Course.
    2. If you are eligible, then you will be required to register for Placement Assistance by filling the Placement Registration Form within 30 days of completing the last Course.
    3. Please note that:
      1. You will be required to regularly attend the Placement Contact Session at the NIIT Centre to facilitate your recruitment.
      2. You will be facilitated with three interview opportunities within six months of registration for Placement. These interview opportunities will be based on your technical skills and personality attributes which shall be reasonably decided by NIIT.
      3. Once selected by an employer, NIIT’s liability to facilitate you with Placement Assistance shall cease.
    4. It is NIIT’s endeavor to provide you such Placement Assistance so that you get placed with an employer who employs you to work in or around your hometown or the city or place of your choice, the same may not be possible many times. Accordingly, it is made clear that you may be required to relocate anywhere in India for the job opportunity provided to you through Placement Assistance.
    5. You will be deemed to be Placement Assisted when at least one of the following occurs:
      1. You are offered placement by a prospective employer.
      2. You are facilitated with three interview opportunities.
      3. You fail to turn up for any of the aforesaid interview opportunity.
      4. You fail to get selected by prospective employer in the three placement opportunities provided to you.
    6. NIIT does not engage in the practice of extending employment guarantee or job guarantee. Placement Assistance is provided to you only by way of ‘helping hand’. Therefore, the same must not be misconstrued as employment guarantee or job guarantee.
    7. Learners of other Nationalities other than India and Nepal shall not be entitled to any Placement Assistance unless they possess a valid ‘Work Permit’.
    8. You will be required to adhere to the rules and regulations of the prospective employer including but not limited to the attendance, working hours, security norms, usage of infrastructure, etc. Similarly, the nature of work done by you with your prospective employer is as per its requirement. NIIT has no say in these rules and regulations and nature of work profile. Therefore, NIIT will not be responsible or answerable to you in respect of any grievance in relation to the same.
  15. Communication:
    1. To keep you informed and updated about your learning, and other services, NIIT may communicate with you in any of the following manners:
      1. Send an SMS on your registered mobile number.
      2. Send a mail on your registered email address.
      3. Send a notifications and banners and updates to your registered e-mail ID through the mobile application.
      4. Post a notice on the Learning Portal in your login page or in your online Learner’s profile.
    2. Feedback: NIIT is a customer-centric organization and, therefore, your feedback is important for us. The same enables us to keep inventing newer methodologies to implement the efficient processes so that the services delivered at the NIIT are at par and in terms of your expectations from NIIT as a brand. You may provide your feedback as and when a link to that effect appears on the Learning Portal. Moreover, NIIT conducts Surveys for its Learners to gauge Customer Satisfaction. Your response to the same will help us identify our strengths and development areas. Do participate in such surveys and help us improve the services imparted to you.
    3. Grievance: A robust Customer Grievance Redressal System (CGRS) exists. In case of any grievance, you may lodge your grievance on the Online Learning Portal and the same shall be addressed by NIIT and proper care shall be taken to redress the same at the earliest.
    4. Terms and Conditions: The terms and conditions in relation policy governing the usage of the Learning Portal is mentioned in the NIIT Learning Portal. The Learner shall have to abide by these terms and conditions at all times.
    5. Privacy: The privacy policy governing the Courses are also mentioned in the NIIT Learning Portal. The Learner shall have to abide by the Privacy Policy all times.

  17. Amendments: NIIT reserves the right to change, alter, modify, improvise, amend or substitute the Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and this Academic Policy on the basis of its review from time to time. The changes are necessitated in view of NIIT’s perennial research and development in the methodologies, pedagogy, etc., as also in view of the industry requirements, vis-à-vis the Courses and Courses. However, the changes that affect your material rights, except those relating to the Academic aspects, shall not be changed unless you consent for the same.
    1. This is applicable only for alumni of courses.
    2. The referral scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarship scheme.
    3. On registering for any course the candidate receives a referral code which can be used to refer to other participants.
    4. When a participant registers for the course using this referral code (to be used as a coupon code), the referred candidate will receive a scholarship on the course fee and the referrer will receive referral credits.
    5. The entry to the course will be subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria (where applicable).
    6. This referral credit can be reimbursed in the form of Amazon vouchers. The referral credit and scholarship amount will vary based on the course.
    7. The referral credit will only be processed after the refund period for the referred candidate has elapsed. Refund period will be as per the enrolled course.
    8. The referral credit will not be provided if the referred candidate withdraws from the course or does not complete registration.
    9. The Structure of Referral Scholarship will be as follows.
    More than Rs. 1,00,000 Rs. 4500 Rs. 4500
    Less than Rs. 1,00,000 10% of course fee 10% of course fee
  18. Discipline:
    1. In addition to the Terms and Conditions mentioned elsewhere in this Academic Policy, you are required to adhere to the norms of discipline and decorum at the Partner organization site or at the Learning Portal or at any examination website. Nonadherence to the same may result in consequential penal action against you depending upon the degree of your involvement and seriousness of the act or omission or indiscipline on your part. In a fit case, your Admission can even be cancelled.
    2. You are also supposed to abide by the privacy policy and the terms and condition mentioned in the NIIT Learning Portal at all times. Any unethical and unprofessional conduct by you shall cause cancellation of your admission and forfeiture of your course fee. You are not supposed to take part in any unfair means and if it is found out that you are involved in any unfair mean related to clearing the modules and assessments in that case strict action may be initiated against you.
    3. For the purpose of this Subsection, indiscipline shall include, but not be limited to, misbehavior, nuisance, brawl, use of foul language in the online chat forum, posting objectionable material in the Learning Portal, use of unfair means at the time of Assessments, being drunk, having consumed Narcotics substances, and indulging in any act or omission which amounts to discouraging/demeaning/hampering the Course structure at the NIIT Centre or any partner Organization Centre or any examination Centre.
